Longline fishing and purse seining are the main fishing methods used by fishermen in Taiwan. Longline fishing uses a long line attached with baited hooks, where the line usually range from 50 to 100 km in length. Purse seining technique requires at least one purse seiner and one boat. The boat will carry a net to catch the targeted fish school after a school of fish is detected.
